Garbage Pick-up

Some people will talk about the greatest inventions of the 20th Century and mention the telephone, the Internet, television, the transistor radio! Hell! I've even played around with the idea that the electric guitar was the greatest invention of the 20th Century, but I've put that aside. Mainly because when I do listen to Popular Top 40 music today, I hear very few, if any, electric guitars.

All of the above were great inventions but I have the say the greatest invention of the 20th Century, if indeed it was a 20th Century invention, would have to be Garbage Pick-up!

Yes, Garbage Pick-up. It's kind of magical. All this trash and stuff I don't want. What to do with it? Just put it in this big can and the magical mysterious garbage fairies come by, empty it into their magical "stuff you don't want" truck and take it away!! Wee!

Where does it go? I don't know.
Who gets it? I don't know.

All I know is that it's no longer in my life.

Possibly the greatest invention ever.
